| Job Duties: The major responsibilities in this position are to work in the Immunocytochemistry Department on the validation of antibodies for immunohistochemistry applications. Duties include isolation of human and animal immune system cells, cutting frozen and paraffin-embedded tissue sections, perform immunohistochemistry staining and evaluate it under the microscope; collect digital images, and enter data into a database. Program and operate tissue autostainer, and follow protocols and standard operation procedures. Follow novel immunohistochemistry techniques, provide training to sales and technical service personnel and communicate to other laboratory personnel and production employees. Perform additional duties/projects as assigned. |
Job Requirements: Requires a Bachelor's/Master's degree in Immunology, Chemistry, Cell Biology or equivalent with a minimum of 0 - 5 years of related biotech industry experience with a Bachelors or 0 to 2 years with a Masters in immunohistochemistry, cell-based assays, testing, manufacturing of antibodies and immunoassays and implementing QC procedures. Must possess a working knowledge of scientific principles and have publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals. Ability to demonstrate laboratory and technical skills, extensive problem solving and troubleshooting. Ability to pay attention to details and be accurate; must be able to work independently or with a team. Computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft EXCEL and WORD are required.
