Hemangioblast & Hematopoietic Stem Cells
Multipotent stem cells, hemangioblasts are derived from the mesoderm and differentiate toward hematopoietic and endothelial cell lineages. In addition to developing embryos, recent studies suggest hemangioblasts may also exist in adult tissues. Elucidation of the signaling pathways that govern hemangioblast generation and differentiation may have important implications for regenerative medicine.
Hematopoietic Stem Cells (HSC) have the capacity to generate all the cell types of the blood throughout adult life. HSCs are the most clinically used stem cell population and are used to treat hematopoietic malignancies and disorders. R&D Systems offers a range of products to study hemangioblast and HSCs, including growth factors for HSC proliferation. Additional products include antibodies for the identification and isolation of lineage-specific cell types, based on the expression of hematopoietic and endothelial differentiation markers.
