Fluorokine® Multianalyte Profiling (MAP) Assay Principle

Legend
Color-coded beads, pre-coated with analyte-specific capture antibodies for the molecule of interest, are added. Multiple proteins can be simultaneously detected in the same sample. Please refer to the insert of the specific FMAP Base Kit of interest for more details on which bead sets are available. Analyte specific antibodies capture the analyte of interest. Biotinylated detection antibodies specific to the analyte of interest are added and form an antibody-antigen sandwich.
Streptavidin conjugated to Phycoerythrin (PE) is added. The microparticles are read using a Luminex® 100™ or 200™ analyzer. One laser classifies the microparticle and determines the analyte that is being detected. The second laser determines the magnitude of the PE-derived signal, which is in direct proportion to the amount of bound analyte.
