R&D Systems PlusCellect cell isolation kits supply two antibodies, one for immunopurification and the other for immunophenotypical analysis. Cell isolation is done by positive selection. Cells of interest are tagged with a biotinylated antibody followed by streptavidin-conjugated magnetic particles (MagCellectâ„¢ Streptavidin Ferrofluid, Catalog # MAG999 or equivalent). Tagged cells can be isolated using any streptavidin-ferrofluid/magnet system. Once the cells are resuspended in PlusCellect Buffer, the efficiency of enrichment can be assessed with the provided PE-conjugated detection antibody.

| Isolation of human EpCAM+ cells. Whole blood cells were spiked with EpCAM-expressing MCF-7 human breast cancer cells. Cells were stained with the provided PE-labeled EpCAM detection antibody both before and after enrichment for EpCAM+ cells using the human EpCAM PlusCellect Kit (Catalog # PLS960). |
