TACS® DNA Laddering Detection Kit
DNA laddering is a hallmark of apoptotic cells. It is caused by internucleosomal cleavage of the DNA by an endosome called Capase activated DNase (CAD) or DNA Fragmentation Factor (DFF40) which is activated during the later stages of apoptosis. Cleavage of the DNA by CAD/DFF40 forms a characteristic ladder of DNA monomers (180-200 bp) and multimers.
Label & Sample Requirements
R&D Systems offers a DNA Laddering kit that allows DNA fragmentation to be detected by agarose gel electrophoresis and visualized by ethidium bromide staining.
