Enzyme-linked Immunospot (ELISpot) Assay is a Novel Tool to Study Secretion of Cytokines from Astrocytes and Microglia In Vitro
Kalyuzhny, A.E., Hagen, J., Grahek, M., Ptak, A., Houchins, J.P., & Livingston, C.
Cytokines produced and secreted by microglia and astrocytes are implicated in various neurodegenerative disorders including Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and Huntington's disease. Enzyme-linked Immunospot (ELISpot) kits are highly sensitive, microplate-based assays for the detection of cytokine secreting cells. In this poster the authors present quantification of TNF-alpha, IL-1 beta, and IL-6 secretion from rat microglial cells and astrocytes.

Neural Differentiation of Pluripotent Stem Cells
Johnson, W., Hickey, G.E., Aho, J., & Reagan, K.
The authors describe methods to induce the differentiation of human neural progenitor cells (NPCs) from pluripotent stem cells using growth factors and small molecules. NPCs were subsequently characterized by immunocytochemistry and flow cytometry using antibodies to detect progenitor cell markers.
