Biological Activity

NB-caged Tyrosine hydrochloride is a L-Tyrosine caged with photosensitive ortho-nitrobenzyl side chain. Rapidly releases tyrosine when photolyzed (300-350 nm excitation). Is readily incorporated into E.coli proteins via inclusion in growth media.
