Cytonin is a non-proteolytic, saponin-based permeabilization reagent designed
specifically for in situ detection of apoptosis. Cytonin provides gentle
permeabilization of samples (facilitating access to DNA for the biotinylated dNTPs)
without destroying antigenic determinants.
Cytonin can be used to permeabilize cells and tissues prior to labeling with TACSTMin situ Apoptosis Detection Kits. Cytonin should be used when protease treatment must be avoided. Use in dual-labeling experiments detecting both DNA fragmentation and antigens that may be sensitive to proteinase K treatment.
