    Featured Product: Animal-Component Free Process Activin A

    Animal-Component Free Process (ACFP) and Conventionally Manufactured Activin A Exhibit the Same Bioactivity. Both ACFP Recombinant Human/Mouse/Rat Activin A (Catalog # ACFP338; orange) and conventionally manufactured Recombinant Human/Mouse/Rat Activin A (Catalog # 338-AC; blue) induce dose-dependent expression of hemoglobin in the K562 human chronic myelogenous leukemia cell line. The amount of hemoglobin in the cell was measured by its pseudoperoxidase activity.

    R&D Systems now offers Animal-Component Free Process (ACFP) Recombinant Human/Mouse/Rat Activin A (Catalog # ACFP338). Activin A is a disulfide-linked homodimeric protein that belongs to the TGF-beta superfamily. It participates in the regulation of several biological processes including stem cell maintenance, cell growth, proliferation, and differentiation, and reproductive functioning. ACFP recombinant proteins are expressed in an animal-free certified Sf 9 insect cell line that has undergone extensive screening for various viruses, Mycoplasma, and Spiroplasma using both in vitro and in vivo testing methods. In addition, dedicated animal-free raw materials and labware are used to produce and purify ACFP proteins.
