Daminozide is a histone demethylase KDM2/7 subfamily inhibitor (IC₅₀ values are 0.55, 1.5 and 2.1 μM for PHF8, KDM2A and KDM7A respectively). Exhibits ≥ 60-fold selectivity for KDM2/7 demethylases over other histone demethylases and 2-oxoglurate oxygenases (IC₅₀ > 100 μM).
