Miconazole nitrate is a antifungal agent. Inhibits lanosterol demethylase and induces formation of reactive oxygen species. Enhances the generation of mature oligodendrocytes from progenitor cells in vitro and promotes myelination in vivo. Attenuates disease severity in a mouse model of multiple sclerosis. Brain penetrant.
