Product Description

Binds the transactivation response element (TAR) of HIV-1 (Kd = 1.35 μM) and inhibits its interaction with Tat. Exhibits >35-fold selectivity for HIV-1 TAR over HIV-2 TAR or A-site and RRE RNA. Inhibits Tat-mediated HIV-1 activation and replication in T-cells in vitro. Also semisynthetic aminoglycoside antibiotic.
