Integrin alpha 3, also known as CD49c and VLA-3 alpha, is a type I membrane protein that heterodimerizes with Integrin beta 1. a3b1 is a cell surface adhesion molecule that functions as a receptor for Laminin, Fibronectin, Collagen, Epiligrin, Thrombospondin, and NG2/MCSP.
