Chemical Name: 8-Hydroxypyrene-1,3,6-tris-sulfonic acid-8-1-(2-nitrophenyl)ethyl ether
Biological ActivityNPE-caged-HPTS is a caged fluorescent pH indicator. Rapidly releases the fluorophore HPTS (pyranine) (pKa 7.25) upon two-photon excitation (>3000 s-1). Routinely used for photolysis calibration. Suitable for use in small-compartment diffusion studies.
