CARF Proteins and Enzymes

CARF is a component of the ARF-MDM2-p53 pathway, interacting with ARF in the nucleolus. This accentuates ARF-mediated p53 stabilization and activation. However, CARF also interacts directly with p53 in the absence of ARF, resulting in a moderate stabilization and activation of p53.
