ISYNA1 Proteins and Enzymes

ISYNA1 is a gene that codes for a protein which is a key enzyme in the myo-inositol biosynthesis pathway which works to convert a glucose 6-phosphate into a 1-myo-inositol 1-phosphate, as well as a rate-limiting enzyme in the synthesis of all compounds containing inositol, and is highly expressed in the testis, ovary, heart, placenta, and pancreas.
