Interleukin-3 (IL-3) is a secreted cytokine that stimulates the proliferation and differentiation of pluripotent hematopoietic stem cells and various lineage-committed progenitors. It also regulates the activation of mature mast cells, basophils, eosinophils, and macrophages.
