Cerulenin is an irreversible fatty acid synthase inhibitor. Blocks proliferation of KRAS-driven lung cancer cells. Promotes apoptosis and inhibits necroptosis in cancer cells. Also inhibits protein palmitoylation and insulin uptake in rat adipocytes in vitro. Antibiotic.
