In direct ELISAs and Western blots, 25% cross-reactivity with recombinant mouse (rm) Carboxypeptidase A1 is observed and no cross-reactivity with recombinant human (rh) Carboxypeptidase A2, B1, E, or recombinant mouse Carboxypeptidase A4 is observed.

Carboxypeptidase A is a pancreatic exopeptidase. Three different forms of human pancreatic procarboxypeptidase A have been isolated. The A1 and A2 forms are monomeric proteins with different biochemical properties.
