Description

The stop solution changes color from blue to yellow and the intensity of the color is measured at 450 nm using a spectrophotometer. In order to measure the concentration of Human DNASE1 in the sample, this Human DNASE1 ELISA Kit includes a set of calibration standards. The calibration standards are assayed at the same time as the samples and allow the operator to produce a standard curve of optical density versus Human DNASE1 concentration. The concentration of the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.

Background: DNASE1

DNASE1, also known as Deoxyribonuclease 1, is an endonuclease found in the zymogen granules of the nuclear envelope. Responsible for DNA fragmentation and cell death during apoptosis, DNASE1 binds to G-actin and blocks actin polymerization. Mutations in DNASE1 cause systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), an autoimmune disease causing inflammation and tissue damage. DNASE1 is also known to treat symptoms of cystic fibrosis.
