Immunoprecipitation:GARS AntibodyNBP3-29898] -Detection of human GARS by western blot of immunoprecipitates. Samples: Whole cell lysate (0.5 or 1.0 mg per IP reaction; 20% of IP loaded) from 293T cells prepared using NETN lysis buffer. Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-GARS antibody NBP3-29898 (lot NBP3-29898-1) used for IP at 6 µg per reaction. GARS was also immunoprecipitated by rabbit anti-GARS antibody. For blotting immunoprecipitated GARS, NBP3-29898 was used at 0.4 µg/ml. Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 10 seconds.

Background: GARS

GARS encodes glycyl-tRNA synthetase, one of the aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases that charge tRNAs with their cognate amino acids. The encoded enzyme is an (alpha)2 dimer which belongs to the class II family of tRNA synthetases. It has been shown to be a target of autoantibodies in the human autoimmune diseases, polymyositis or dermatomyositis. [provided by RefSeq]
