Western Blot:[NBP3-30684]-Detection of human CerS2 by western blot and immunoprecipitation. Samples: Whole cell lysate from HeLa, HEK293T and Jurkat cells. Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-CerS2 antibody used for WB at 0. 04 µg/ml and 1 µg/ml and used for IP at 6 µg/mg lysate. CerS2 was also immunoprecipitated by rabbit anti-CerS2 antibody, which recognizes an upstream epitope. Detection: Chemiluminescence with exposure times of 3 minutes and 3 seconds.

Background: LASS2

LASS2 encodes a protein that has sequence similarity to yeast longevity assurance gene 1. Mutation or overexpression of the related gene in yeast has been shown to alter yeast lifespan. The human protein may play a role in the regulation of cell growth. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been described.
