Background: ACBD6

ACBD6 contains 1 ACB (acyl-CoA-binding) domain and 2 ANK repeats. This protein binds long-chain acyl-coenzyme A molecules with a strong preference for unsaturated C18:1 CoA, lower affinity for unsaturated C20:4-CoA, and very weak affinity for saturated C16:0-CoA. It does not bind fatty acids. Recombinant human ASCC1 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E.coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.
