Ras-GAP (Ras GTPase-activating protein) interacts with Ras to stimulate the otherwise weak intrinsic GTPase activity of Ras and to promote the return of Ras to an inactive GDP-bound state. Thus, Ras-GAP is a negative regulator of Ras. Human Ras-GAP is 1047 amino acids in length. The N-terminal region contains two SH2 domains and an intervening SH3 domain, while the C-terminal half of Ras-GAP is sufficient to accelerate Ras GTPase activity.

Scientific Data Images for Human/Mouse/Rat Ras-GAP Antibody
Detection of Human/Mouse/Rat Ras-GAP by Western Blot.
Western blot shows lysates of TT human medullary thyroid cancer cell line, C2C12 mouse myoblast cell line, and Rat-2 rat embryonic fibroblast cell line. PVDF membrane was probed with 1 µg/mL of Human/Mouse/Rat Ras-GAP Antigen Affinity-purified Polyclonal Antibody (Catalog # AF5094) followed by HRP-conjugated Anti-Goat IgG Secondary Antibody (Catalog # HAF109). A specific band was detected for Ras-GAP at approximately 120 kDa (as indicated). This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions and using Immunoblot Buffer Group 1.Applications for Human/Mouse/Rat Ras-GAP Antibody
