Background: Sulfatase Modifying Factor 2/SUMF2

Also known as the paralog of C‑ alpha ‑formylglycine-generating enzyme/SUMF1, SUMF2 may compete with SUMF1 for the same sulfatase, but it does not act as C‑ alpha ‑formylglycine-generating enzyme. The amino acid sequence of recombinant human SUMF2 is 90%, 88%, 86% and 85% identical to that of bovine, canine, rat, and mouse.
