Detection of Human Vasorin/SLIT‑like 2 by Western Blot. Western blot shows lysates of human placenta tissue and human lung tissue. PVDF membrane was probed with 2 µg/mL of Mouse Anti-Human Vasorin/SLIT-like 2 Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB2140) followed by HRP-conjugated Anti-Mouse IgG Secondary Antibody (Catalog # HAF018). Specific bands were detected for Vasorin/SLIT-like 2 at approximately 65 and 95 kDa (as indicated). This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions and using Immunoblot Buffer Group 1.

Background: Vasorin/SLIT-like 2

Vasorin is a type I membrane protein that is predominantly expressed in vascular smooth muscle cells in a developmentally regulated pattern. Expression is down-regulated during vessel repair after arterial injury. Vasorin directly binds to transforming growth factor (TGF)-beta and attenuates TGF-beta signaling in vitro (1).
