Jervine is an inhibitor of Hedgehog signaling (IC₅₀ = 500 - 700 nM); binds directly to Smoothened (Smo). Inhibits the response of target tissues to Sonic hedgehog signaling, possibly via the sterol sensing domain of Patched. Teratogenic.
