Description

Fluorescent lipid peroxide probe for live cell imaging

Wavelength

Excitation = 524 nm, Emission = 535 nm

Product Description

Key information:

Liperfluo is a fluorescent probe for the selective detection and imaging of lipid peroxides in living cells. Upon reaction with lipid peroxides, Liperfluo is oxidized and becomes fluorescent.

Used for: imaging lipid peroxides in living cells. Liperfluo can be used to monitor lipid peroxidation in ferroptosis research.

Application: fluorescent microscopy and flow cytometry.

Properties and Photophysical Data: Liperfluo has a high solubility in organic solvents. It displays minimal photo damage and auto-fluorescence and shows high selectivity to lipid peroxidases over ROS and other radical species. Excitation and emission maxima (λ) measured in ethanol are 524 nm and 535 nm, respectively; quantum yield (oxidized form) = 0.85.

Please refer to this protocol for further information on how to use this product.

Scientific Data Images for Liperfluo

Fluorescence images of lipid peroxidation in HeLa cells

Fluorescence images of lipid peroxidation in HeLa cells.

HeLa cells were pre-incubated in serum-free medium containing 1 μM Liperfluo at 37 °C for 30 min. in a 5% CO2 incubator. The medium was replaced by medium containing serum and 500 μM t-BHP and incubated at 37 °C for 60 min. in a 5% CO2 incubator. The cells were observed under a confocal fluorescence microscope.
Reaction selectivity of Liperfluo against various reactive oxygen species (ROS)

Reaction selectivity of Liperfluo against various reactive oxygen species (ROS).

Relative fluorescence intensity (F/F0) of Liperfluo with various ROS in ethanol. Liperfluo (1 mM) was reacted with various ROS (5 mM) for 30 min at room temperature. F0 and F denote fluorescence intensity at 535 nm before and after the addition of various ROS, respectively.
