MNI 137 is a selective negative allosteric modulator of group II mGlu receptors (IC₅₀ values are 8.3 and 12.6 nM for human and rat mGlu₂ inhibition of glutamate-induced calcium mobilization). Displays no activity at mGlu₁, mGlu₄, mGlu₅ or mGlu₈ receptors in a calcium mobilization assay.
