Background: CD302/CLEC13A
CD302, also known as CLEC13A and DCL-1, is a 35 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein in the C-type lectin family. CD302 is expressed on monocytes, macrophages, dendritic cells, and granulocytes. It contains one carbohydrate binding domain in its extracellular region and can mediate antigen uptake. In human Hodgkin’s disease, a fusion protein containing portions of CD302 and the ECD of DEC-205 is expressed on Reed-Sternberg cells. Within the ECD, mouse CD302 shares 82% and 92% aa sequence identity with human and rat CD302, respectively.
