Mouse C1rLP, also CLSPa, is a 55 kDa, secreted, atypical glycoprotein member of the AGY group of servine proteases. It has protease activity for pro-haptoglobin, but accomplishes cleavage without a typical Asp in the catalytic site. In addition, it is proposed to block unwanted complement-mediated proteolysis. Mature C1rLP is 443 amino acids (aa) in length. It contains one CUB domain (aa 43‑165), a truncated CCP2 region (aa 167‑223) and a serine protease domain (aa 239‑482). There is a potential short form that utilizes an alternate start site at Met 27. Over aa 44‑456, mouse C1rLP is 78% and 90% aa identical to human and rat C1rLP, respectively.
