Risedronate is an orally active biphosphonate that inhibits farnesyl diphosphate (FPP) synthase (IC₅₀ = 100 nM). Exhibits antiproliferative and proapoptotic activity in numerous tumor cell lines and inhibits osteoclast-mediated bone resorption in vivo.
