Formulation, Preparation, and Storage

The product is shipped with polar packs. Upon receipt, store it immediately at the temperature recommended below.

Storage

• Store lyophilized controls at 2-8 °C. Lyophilized controls are stable for up to 12 months from date of receipt.
• Reconstituted controls are stable for up to 6 months from date of preparation when stored at ≤ -70 °C. Storage at -20° C is not recommended.
• Individual frozen aliquots of low and high controls are designed as single-use entities. Thaw directly before use and discard any remaining volume.

Background: beta-NGF

Beta-NGF (nerve growth factor) is a secreted dimeric neurotrophin that plays a critical role in the development of sympathetic and some sensory neurons in the peripheral nervous system. It can also act in the central nervous system as a trophic factor for basal forebrain cholinergic neurons. Beta-NGF additionally promotes mast cell and basophil proliferation and activation and induces the differentiation of B cells
