Immunoprecipitation:SURF2 AntibodyNBP3-29591] -Detection of human Surfeit 2 by western blot of immunoprecipitates. Samples: Whole cell lysate (0.5 or 1.0 mg per IP reaction; 20% of IP loaded) from 293T cells prepared using NETN lysis buffer. Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-Surfeit 2 antibody NBP3-29591 (lot NBP3-29591-1) used for IP at 6 µg per reaction. Surfeit 2 was also immunoprecipitated by rabbit anti-Surfeit 2 antibody for blotting immunoprecipitated Surfeit 2, NBP3-29591 was used at 1 µg/ml. Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 3 minutes.

The gene shares a bidirectional promoter with SURF1, which is located on the opposite strand. The function of the encoded protein from this housekeeping gene has not yet been determined.
