Immunoprecipitation: TAF1C Antibody [NBP2-12778] - Samples: Whole cell lysate (1 mg for IP, 20% of IP loaded) from HeLa cells. Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-TAF1C antibody NBP2-12778 used for IP at 6 ug/mg lysate. TAF1C was also immunoprecipitated by rabbit anti-TAF1C antibody NBP2-12779, which recognizes a downstream epitope. For blotting immunoprecipitated TAF1C, NBP2-12779 was used at 1 ug/ml. Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 30 seconds.

Background: TAF1C

Initiation of transcription by RNA polymerase I requires the formation of a complex composed of the TATA-bindingprotein (TBP) and three TBP-associated factors (TAFs) specific for RNA polymerase I. This complex, known as SL1, bindsto the core promoter of ribosomal RNA genes to position the polymerase properly and acts as a channel for regulatorysignals. This gene encodes the largest SL1-specific TAF. Two transcripts encoding different isoforms have beenidentified. (provided by RefSeq)
