Selective 5-HT_2C agonist. K_i values are 56, 2350, 1575 and 815 nM for human recombinant 5-HT_2C, 5-HT_2A, 5-HT₆ and 5-HT₇ receptors respectively. Stimulates intracellular Ca²⁺ mobilization in CHO cells expressing human 5-HT_2C receptors (EC₅₀ = 72 nM). Reduces food intake in rats.
