Adiponectin (Acrp30) is secreted primarily by adipocytes and induces multiple paracrine and endocrine effects on metabolism and inflammation. Adiponectin promotes insulin sensitivity, decreased serum glucose and triglyceride levels, and increased serum glucagon levels.
