Adrenergic beta-1 Receptor Antagonists

The adrenergic β₁ receptor (β₁-adrenoceptor) is a member of the adrenergic receptor group of G-protein-coupled receptors that also includes α_1A, α_1B, α_1D, α_2A, α_2B, α_2C, β₂ and β₃. They are located primarily in the CNS, heart, coronary artery, kidney and muscle and are involved in cardiac stimulation, coronary vasodilation and relaxation of the colon and esophagus. The human adrenergic β₁ receptor gene has been localized to chromosome 10 (10q24-q26).
