Class III Histone Deacetylases Inhibitors

Sirtuins (also known as Silent information regulator (Sir2)-like family deacetylase) are a family of histone deacetylase enzymes. Sirtuins are classified as class III HDACs. These enzymes can be found in the cytoplasm, mitochondria or nucleus of the cell and are ubiquitously expressed. Sirtuins catalyze the removal of acetyl groups from lysine residues in histones and non-histone proteins, which is coupled to NAD⁺ hydrolysis.
