EMID2 Proteins and Enzymes

The EMID2 gene (often known as COL26A1) encodes a collagen alpha-1(XXVI) chain that in isoform 1 is 441 amino acids long at 45 kDA and in isoform 2 is 439 amino acids long at 45 kDA. EMID2 participates in the secretion of collagens, the degradation of the extracellular matrix, and collagen biosynthesis and modifying enzymes. It has been known to interact with various genes such as TBP, EMID1, COL14A1, COL15A1, and SERPINH1.
