NEK8 (NIMA-Related Kinase 8) belongs to the protein kinase superfamily. Mutations in NEK8 have been linked to nephronophthisis type 9. NEK8 is required for renal tubular integrity. NEK8 is known to have interactions with ABL1, FYN, ACVR1, BICD2 and CSN2.
