Belonging to the NDK family, NME6 plays an important role in cell growth and is commonly expressed in the kidney, prostate, ovary and intestine. This gene is an inhibitor of p53 induced apoptosis and is a ubiquitous enzyme that catalyzes the transfer of gamma-phosphates.
