OR1C1, also known as Olfactory receptor 1C1, is a 35 kDa, 314 amino acid protein that is involved in reception and transduction of odor signals in order to trigger the sense of smell. Diseases such as neuronitis are currently being researched for their link to the protein. The protein interacts with OR2G2, OR2G3, OR2M4, OR14A16, and OR52E6 in olfactory and GPCR downstream signal transduction pathways.
