TBX6: Products

TBX6 (T-box protein 6) is a 47 kDa member of the T-box family of transcriptional regulators. It is expressed during embryogenesis, plays a role in presomitic mesoderm development, and promotes delta-like 1 transcription. Human TBX6 is 436 amino acids (aa) in length. It contains one T-box DNA-binding domain (aa 90 - 277). There is one TBX6 alternate splice form that shows a 15 aa substitution for aa 281 - 436. Over aa 1 - 280, human TBX6 shows 94% and 90% aa identity with canine and mouse TBX6, respectively.
