Ubiquitin Carboxyterminal Hydrolase Isozyme 1 (UCH-L1), also known as PGP9.5, is a cytoplasmic protein that belongs to the peptidase C12 family of enzymes. It is predominantly expressed in neurons in the brain and has only limited expression in other healthy tissue such as the gonads.
