Background: PlGF

PLGF is a growth factor active in angiogenesis, and endothelial cell growth, stimulating their proliferation and migration. It belongs to the cysteine-knot superfamily. PLGF is expressed in placental tissues, colon and mammary carcinomas. It signals through the VEGFR-1/FLT1 receptor.

Long Name

FAQs for Recombinant Human PLGF Protein

Showing  1 - 1 of 1 FAQ Showing All
  • Q: Does the Human PlGF Quantikine® ELISA Kit, Catalog # DPG00, detect free or total PlGF?

A: Soluble receptors or other binding proteins present in biological samples do not necessarily interfere with the measurement of ligands in samples. However, until the factors have been tested in the Quantikine® Immunoassay, the possibility of interference cannot be excluded. We cannot claim Catalog # DPG00 to be a "free" or "total" PlGF detecting kit, since all possible binding factors have not been tested. Specificity testing performed using rhFlt-1/Fc (VEGF R1) for interference demonstrated interference at levels greater than 2000 pg/mL. Details of this testing can be found in the DPG00 product insert. Most samples will have lower levels of sFlt-1 than 2000 pg/ml.
