Aurora-C is a member of a novel family of serine/threonine kinases that have been identified as key regulators of the mitotic cell division process (1). Studies show that human Aurora-C is a chromosomal passenger protein that forms complexes with Aurora-B and inner centromere protein (INCENP), which are known passenger proteins.
