GADD45 alpha Proteins and Enzymes
GADD45 (Growth Arrest and DNA Damage) is one of multiple genes induced in cells exposed to DNA damaging agents. Expression of the GADD genes results in growth arrest. GADD45 may be induced by p53-dependent and p53-independent mechanisms to effect G2/M cell cycle arrest.
