Gephyrin/GPHN Proteins and Enzymes

The Gephyrin (GPHN) gene encodes a neuronal assembly protein that exists in isoform 1 (736 amino acids long, 79 kDA) or isoform 2 (769 amino acids in length, approximately 83 kDA). This protein anchors inhibitory neurotransmitter receptors to the postsynaptic cytoskeleton through high affinity binding to a receptor subunit domain and tublin dimers.
