Transglutaminase 5/TGM5 CDNA Clones

Tissue transglutaminase is an enzyme which catalyzes the cross linking of proteins and the conjugation of polyamines to proteins. While the primary structure of transglutaminases is not conserved, they all have the same amino acid sequence at their active sites and their activity is calcium dependent. Transglutaminase 5 contributes to the formation of the cornified cell envelope of keratinocytes.
